What is a personal grievance?

A personal grievance is a formal legal complaint raised by an employee against their employer for unjustified actions, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment, or any unreasonable treatment that results in a workplace disadvantage.

What is unfair dismissal?

Unfair dismissal can occur in two main ways: when an employer dismisses an employee without following a fair process, or when there is no genuine and valid reason for the dismissal.

What is an employment dispute?

An employment dispute is a formal disagreement between you and your employer. It usually happens when there is a conflict over your legal rights, pay, or how your employment agreement is being followed.

What is harassment?

Workplace harassment refers to any unwelcome verbal or physical behavior that offends, humiliates, intimidates, or distresses a person, creating a hostile, degrading, or intimidating work environment. It may be based on protected characteristics such as race, gender, or religion, but also includes general workplace bullying, such as spreading rumors, unreasonable criticism, or social isolation.
